Regional Ayurveda Research Centre, Agartala

Regional Ayurveda Research Centre (RARC), Agartala, is a functioning Research Unit of CCRAS, New Delhi, situated in Tripura state for undertaking, coordinating, and promoting research in Ayurveda. This is the 30th institute of CCRAS and fifth among the institutes in the North Eastern Region. It was started on 7th march 2019, and since then it is continually providing their services in the Agartala. Previously it was situated in the rented building at 135, Ramnagar, Road No. 4, Agartala there after it was shifted to another rented building at 462, Akhaura Road, PO Ramnagar, Near Bandhan Bank, Agartala, and currently it is continued in this building. The centre was started with following objectives: 1. To cater out health care services and documentation of Health-related demography in different District of the state through OPDs, Ayurveda Health Centres and THCRP project. 2. Undertake Research study to find out and identify specific disease prevalent in the state. 3. To conduct clinical trials for studying the safety and efficacy of Ayurvedic drugs on specific diseases prevalent in the state. Mandate Major Activity: – Health Care Services throughout Patient Department. Outreach Activity: – Tribal Health Care Research Programme under TSP. Ayurvedic Health Centre under NE Plan.Clinical Research and patient care services are being carried out through various clinical sections like Panchakarma, Ksharasutra, Jalukavacharana, Kriyakalpas, Clinical Laboratory, Physiotherapy, Library, and specialty clinics like Geriatric, Eye, Preventive Cardiology, ENT, Arthritis, Paediatrics etc.

CCRAS

The Central Council for Research in Ayurvedic Sciences (CCRAS) is an autonomous body of the Ministry of AYUSH (Ayurveda, Yoga & Naturopathy, Unani, Siddha and Homeopathy), Government of India. It is an apex body in India for the formulation, coordination, development and promotion of research on scientific lines in Ayurveda and Sowa-Rigpa system of medicine.
